iCare is a patient information system that can be set up for each and every organisation to exactly meet their needs. One of most organisations’ core needs is to be able to record the National Council for Hospice and Specialist Palliative Care Services Minimum Data Set (MDS).
iCare records all of the items in the MDS but doesn’t limit you to those alone as every user of iCare wants to record more and different data items.
However recording the data usually isn’t the hardest part for most people - getting the information out into the format requested in the annual report can often take organisations days if not weeks of work to gather, collate, calculate and format into the MDS report.
iCare has a report specifically designed for the output of the MDS and it is updated every time there is a change to the report format. It is laid out in exactly the way required by the MDS but it only has to be run for the services relevant to the organisation. Once those corrections are made then you are ready to run the report.
As you can see it is in exactly the same format as that required by MDS, so much so that you don’t even need to fill out their form, just print off the iCare one and send it off! A significant number of iCare users now use this report as their monthly statistics format as it is so easy to do and usually contains more relevant information than their old monthly reporting format.
In short iCare’s MDS report makes the MDS a five minute job rather than days and weeks. |
