SMI Newsletter: Spring 2008
Hello! It seems that 2008 is flying by, the V10 Upgrades have kept us extremely busy reaching our UK customers before the 1st April 2008 deadline! SoftForms have now been officially launched with pleasing customer feedback.
A new member of staff has been appointed to join the Support Team. Chris Scott joined us in February and has become quite the expert in Pal.Care Reporting.
SMI’s staff management system Staff Care has become extremely popular with our current clients and many new clients outside the NHS/Care sector. A new HR element has been added which now records staff training, courses attended, staff appraisals, staff meetings etc. For a limited time only, we are able to offer current SMI customers Staff Care for as little as £25 per week. Staff Care is completely web based, it requires no access to your server and there is no requirement from your IT Department - you simply need internet access. Please read more about Staff Care later in this Newsletter.
Minimum Data Set (MDS) 2008 / V10 Upgrades
Most of our UK Clients have now upgraded to Version 10 of Pal.Care and are now MDS 2008 compliant. All the staff at SMI are now breathing a huge sigh of relief !! Some clients encountered a couple of teething problems brought on by server security issues or server set-up problems which were out of SMI’s control, however the upgrades have proved a great success. The feedback on Version 10 has been complimentary especially with the revised SoftForm facility.
SMI Discussion Forums and Website Redesign
The Discussion Forum was mentioned in our last Newsletter just before Christmas. Sadly, they've been fairly quiet. For this reason we've temporarily removed them while we redesign and re-launch our websites. Those users that regularily visited them needn't worry - they'll be returning soon, along with an all new website and a Customer Zone with all kinds of useful resources for our customers.
Staff.Care
- When a staff member leaves your employment, put “ZZZ” at the beginning of their name. When you next do a look up all old employees will be at the bottom of the list. This will save up time scrolling through a long list of employees.
Pal.Care
- If you open up the MDS programme and run the Audit Report, this will inform you of all the patients that have missing criteria, i.e. patients with a missing date of birth or diagnosis.
- Pressing F9 when in a patient update, lets you go onto the patient subtext facility. This allows you to add any document to the patient record such as MS Word documents, jpeg images etc. A great function to enable staff to view all the patient details and correspondence.
