Job Description

As a leading supplier of high quality software and services to the healthcare sector, SMI specialises in staff rostering systems for the NHS, and Private and Not for Profit organisations. A unique opportunity has now arisen for a Graduate Software Consultant to join our team.

This is the ideal opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic and personable candidate who can ‘think on their feet’ and will relish the chance to develop a career in software training, products and services. This position offers excellent career opportunities, fantastic training and support, and a generous commission package.

As a Graduate Software Consultant you’ll manage and look after client accounts in a consultative way. You will be jointly responsible for up to 100 clients within a geographically diverse area. Part of your role will be to provide training on the company’s software applications to clients throughout the UK and Ireland. Previous experience isn’t essential as full training will be provided, though you will need to demonstrate the ability to understand customer’s technical issues.

This position offers great diversity and the chance to be involved in projects from start to finish, from project managing new contracts and attending management meetings, to providing training at client sites. And because the role offers considerable autonomy, you will need to be astute, highly motivated and have plenty of ideas and drive.

After your comprehensive company training, as a Graduate Software Consultant you’ll be required to travel to client sites in order to set up the software so it is ‘ready to start’ for the customer to use, demonstrate the different aspects of it, promote the company, and where possible, advise clients on the company’s other software products and services.

To succeed in this position ideally you will be a graduate (or equivalent) with a basic knowledge of software. Our client also invites applications from candidates with a professional approach and great client relationship skills, who are eager to develop their career.

A full driving licence and your own car is essential for this position, as is the flexibility to be available to spend up to 3 nights away from home a week (though usually less).

If you’re looking for a challenging role where no two days are the same - then this is it.
